The papal crest of Benedict XVI in flowers - the last time I was up here it was JPII's crest... the difference struck me as I gazed down from the cupola in the same spot that I stood back then.

    Isn't that a papal tiara? I thought it had been replaced with a mitre...

    Yes, it certainly looks more like a triregnum than a mitre, maybe the gardener is holding out for a restoration of the true religion in the Vatican, and refuses to dig it up!
