The Roamin' Roman

Benvenuto! You have happened upon the blog of a wandering Catholic American college student studying for a year in Rome, the Eternal City. You will find here my pontifications, ruminations, reflections, images, and ponderings on my life in Rome. Ciao!

Monday, April 3

Tuesday of the 4th Week of Lent - Station Church - San Lorenzo in Damaso. Yes, this would be yet another church dedicated in honor of our favorite deacon, St. Lawrence. Interesting thing is, this church, while one of the earliest churches in Rome, built by Pope St. Damasas I... however, somewhere along the centuries it got "replaced" somewhat by a papal palace. The location of the church was thus shifted over a bit, and incorporated right into the new building - therefore, from the outside you'd never guess this is what is on the inside!
