This Easter the liturgy included the Witness of Peter, which involves the veneration of the miraculous icon that is normally kept down at the shrine with the Holy Stairs (near St. John Lateran) by the Holy Father. This icon, kept in the papal chapel at the top of the Stairs, is considered to be one "not written by human hands" (ie, by angels I guess) and is kept in a silver frame, with only the face of Christ showing. Here, the deacons are opening up the icon for viewing.
