The rest of the basilica has also been beautifully decorated, thanks to generous support from various countries and ethnic groups. Here is a view of the main apse area, you can't see it very well, but the detail work on the frescoes along the sides looked almost 3-D, with glossy gold and then muted coloration on the rest of it. I wish I would have been able to stand there for awhile to absorb it longer!
