The Roamin' Roman

Benvenuto! You have happened upon the blog of a wandering Catholic American college student studying for a year in Rome, the Eternal City. You will find here my pontifications, ruminations, reflections, images, and ponderings on my life in Rome. Ciao!

Sunday, March 5

From this evening at St. Peter's - Latin Vespers for the 1st Sunday of Lent, sung with the help of the basilica's choir and attended by a LOT of people. Perfect!

What time is vespers? Are they every day? (We're going to Rome March 26th, and my mom's assigned me to find out stuff.)

Sung vespers are held every Sunday at 5:00pm, at the Altar of the Chair (the area behind the papal high altar). Due to the line getting in through security, I usually get to the Vatican by around 4:30pm to ensure I get in and get a good seat and liturgy guide - since it's in Latin! Highly recommended for anyone coming to Rome over a Sunday.
