The Roamin' Roman

Benvenuto! You have happened upon the blog of a wandering Catholic American college student studying for a year in Rome, the Eternal City. You will find here my pontifications, ruminations, reflections, images, and ponderings on my life in Rome. Ciao!

Sunday, March 19

Friday of the 2nd Week of Lent - Station Church - San Vitale. The church is one of the most interesting ones in Rome, I think. It is basically the "martyrs' church", filled with decorations that remind us of the heroism of the early Christian martyrs. It is also interesting in its architecture - the church is very old, in an early basilica structure, and is on its "original" ground level - meaning, you need to climb down 32 steps to get to it these days, with the build-up of Rome!
