The Roamin' Roman

Benvenuto! You have happened upon the blog of a wandering Catholic American college student studying for a year in Rome, the Eternal City. You will find here my pontifications, ruminations, reflections, images, and ponderings on my life in Rome. Ciao!

Tuesday, April 18

Later that morning, a group of us went to a special papal audience that was held for the members of Opus Dei, particularly those who were in town to attend the UNIV congress for students in Rome during Holy Week. However, there were a ton more people there than that - the Opus Dei network pulled in thousands of other young people for the audience, and some groups even came from across Europe just for the audience.

This photo is of the Holy Father listening to a message given by Bishop Javier Echevarria to the Pope (you can read that message here. Then, His Holiness spoke to us all on the importance of communication in the modern world for the Church - read that here. You can also find out more about UNIV here.
