The Roamin' Roman

Benvenuto! You have happened upon the blog of a wandering Catholic American college student studying for a year in Rome, the Eternal City. You will find here my pontifications, ruminations, reflections, images, and ponderings on my life in Rome. Ciao!

Finally, here is a view of our lovely Our Lady of Lourdes grotto behind the house - the roses have been blooming beautifully for the last couple of weeks! It is so nice to have this here, I must say, I have never had a grotto or outdoor shrine before, and it is so nice to be praying a Rosary on the way home and go back here to finish it, or to come out here at night and light a candle and sing the Marian antiphon for the season. All the places needs now is a bench; there is no seating or kneeling area here, unfortunately, so no one wants to stay out here very long. Someday, when I have a few hundred extra euros...

Hey Mary, looks like the grotto is doing well. I didn't know all those bushes bloomed with roses on them. Thanks for the updates.
