The Roamin' Roman

Benvenuto! You have happened upon the blog of a wandering Catholic American college student studying for a year in Rome, the Eternal City. You will find here my pontifications, ruminations, reflections, images, and ponderings on my life in Rome. Ciao!

Saturday, December 17

Here's a view of the back area of the chapel, with Fr.'s commentary continuing... The nun figure upper-left of the middle doorway is a depiction of Edith Stein (St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross). You can also see depictions of Pentecost (left), Noah's ark, and the Resurrection. The red figure in the oval in the upper corner of the room is the Virgin Mary (there is a matching one of St. John the Baptist on the other side) - directly beneath her is a small figure of John Paul II himself, holding the chapel in his hand.
